Can you lose weight (including that stubborn belly fat) by ingesting certain foods?

In the book, Zero Belly Diet: Lose Up to 16 lbs. in 14 Days!, David Zinczenko explains how nutrients found in various foods have the potential to "turn off" fat genes.

As more studies are done, scientists are, in fact, finding that certain bioactive compounds found in some foods do have fat burning and weight loss potential.

For example, Dr. Michael Greger recently released two videos explaining how the fat-burning properties of brown adipose tissue can be boosted by eating foods containing capsaicin (found in chili peppers), as well as arginine-rich foods.

This infographic entitled "Drink Your Way to Weight Loss" from Fitness Republic features three foods (honey, lemon, and cinnamon) that are thought to contain fat-burning properties.

The infographic briefly describes the metabolic action of these foods and offers simple drink recipes.
