Superfoods for Health and Weight Loss |
Super foods are typically very high in antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, fiber, phytochemicals (phytonutrients) and other bioactive compounds that have been linked to the prevention (and even potential reversal) of certain chronic diseases.
Emerging research also suggests that eating certain superfoods may aid in weight loss. It appears that certain naturally occurring biochemicals in various superfoods may have some impact on fat storage, fat burning, and other aspects of weight loss and/or gain.
Often this impact on fat loss takes place in an indirect way. For example, certain foods aid in the natural detox process which is linked to weight loss and healthy weight maintenance.
